Universal Design for Learning (UDL): DISCUSS

Many students do not want to self-identify as disabled. If you design your course from the start with learning differentiation in mind, everyone does better, and special accommodation needs can disappear

D Define - what you want your students to take away from your lesson.

I Investigate - curriculum resources including open educational resources and library materials.

S Set goals - start with the end in mind.

S Scaffold - structure the lesson whether it is an outline, agenda, readings, or videos into manageable parts that build onto each other.

S Student reflection – What use is the lesson? (This is where the learning happens.)

This is just my own brainstorming and article collection. You can come up with your own mnemonic to keep in mind while creating educational content.  -Val
