Please use these rooms if you need a quieter space, or plan to have a lively study group.
Reservable times are when staff is available, otherwise rooms may be used but not reserved. The rooms are not soundproof, so noise and conversations may still be audible.
No fines, we just bug you until you bring it back. Remember that a library works best when people share fairly.
put a hold on an item that is checked out, so you get it next.
Replace it with a used copy in good condition if available. Last resort is to charge you for replacement.
you can renew your own items by logging into your catalog account, if they are not overdue. Otherwise, stop by or email us at library@fvtc.edu to renew. We can renew as long as there is no hold on the title for another customer.
if you see an item in a search, you can click “Request” to send us a message to find a book and put it in the hold basket. We keep it on hold for you for a week, and then re-shelve it if you do not contact us.
The library is happy to mail items to students that qualify, free of charge. This service is primarily for distance learners near our satellite campuses.
Please email library@fvtc.edu with your item information and location so we can help set up the process of sending the item through inter-office mail, and arranging pickup at the satellite campus near you.
In addition to current students, faculty, and staff, we welcome guests such as people from the community, alumni, students who are not currently enrolled in classes, and other visitors. Guests can use many of the library resources while they are in the library.
If something is not available in our collections, Students, Faculty & Staff can request Interlibrary Loan of materials for free. We cannot guarantee items will be available.
