Why use EzProxy?

Our Vendors grant us access to their databases by authenticating our users by IP address.

On campus: If you are on Appleton FVTC campus; inside firewall; inside IP range specified: Then you are considered authenticated under our license agreement. Library pays for subscription and you use it at no extra cost.

Off campus:  EzProxy is the middle manager. 

It looks inside our firewall at the MyFVTC active directory (directory of who has an active MyFVTC account).  It then tells vendors yes/no to question "Authorized?"  If you have an active MyFVTC account the answer is "yes", and you can sign into database the same way you sign into your email.   userID@fvtc.edu  and password.  MUST use @fvtc.edu in Username so it know where you are coming from.

Once you have logged into the database through the Library EzProxy, you can create an account.
