Finding permanent URL to share Films on Demand videos

1) Search: “Communication Skills” in FOD search field

2) Go below video and open Share to select Embed/Link tab

Log in with current MyFVTC account credentials to enable viewing of Films on Demand Videos, and access to any Library Database that is fee based, because FVTC Library pays subscription fee so current MyFVTC account can access without hitting a paywall.

Off campus, use your MyFVTC ID#@fvtc.edu and password to prove you are an active FVTC affiliate.
You may need to turn off your pop-up bloker to let the FVTC login pop up.

WARNING: An active MyFVTC account, including Email and OneDrive storage,
only available to actively employed faculty and staff,
and students that are currently enrolled in an FVTC program.
Once you separate from FVTC your FVTC email and MS Onedrive contents are deleted.
Forward or back-up important content before you leave!

On campus: You can use most of the Library Resurces without needing to be authenticated as having an active MyFVTC Email.
Exceptions are LinkedIn Learning and PrepStep.

If you are on campus, resources open without needing to prove you have an active MyFVTC email account.
You get an active MyFVTC email account when you work for FVTC or when you enroll AND select a program to pursue.

Emails used for old registrations may no longer work - use a different email address. You lose your MyFVTC email after graduation.

Can I post FOD links within Microsoft PowerPoint and Word?

Can I post links within Microsoft PowerPoint and Word?

For PowerPoint : You need to first log into Films on Demand on your default browser (the one that opens up automatically when you click links) so the authentication cookie is loaded.

Then when you click the FOD link in PowerPoint, it will open as if you put the link directly into your browser.

Check for common Error: Forgot @fvtc.edu

If you try to log in, but forget to put @fvtc.edu after your ID - or your password is not synchronized with the master list, you get error. Try again. If that does not work go to MyFVTC and Reset Your MyFVTC Password.

Issue: the “proxy prefix” https://login.applibproxy.fvtc.edu/login?url= for off-campus use is missing.

For off-campus use, URL must have proxy prefix
https://login.applibproxy.fvtc.edu/login?url=https://fod.infobase...

Your link must have the proxy prefix to prompt the FVTC sign-in authorization box.

Without this prefix, Films on Demand (FOD) server is not seeing you as an FVTC associate, and can only provide their generic public login box. That can only be used if you have created a personal account from our subscription access.
