You use your MyFVTC credentials to get off-campus access to Library subscriptions.

Authentication means giving enough information to a vendor to prove you are a current FVTC affiliate and therefore allowed to access their product based on library subscription terms.

EzProxy Login lets vendors know that you are an authorized user with access to library subscriptions.

MyFVTC email is only available to actively employed faculty and staff, and students that are currently enrolled in an FVTC program.

Admins must log into your account using this link and your IDnumber@fvtc.edu. If you want to recover the learning history from your old email account, contact us at library@fvtc.edu. If you are an FVTC affiliate and do not have access, contact us from your FVTC email to request access to FVTC subscription.

You are welcome to use computers and other library resources when the library unstaffed.
You cannot reserve rooms when there is no library staff to oversee issues.
After staff is gone, rooms are on first-come-first use basis. Security can open doors if you are locked out.

To search for a specific information need (Homework or personal need):
Use library databases to allow you to choose the type of information you want (Book, article, video? Trade or scholarly journal? Fact or Opinion?)

Searching for articles to practice environmental monitoring (staying current and competitive in your field):

Browse the table of contents or articles in trade or scientific journals to stay current.
Attend conferences for networking and learning what is new and upcoming.
Association newsletters, forums and listservs, as well as social media, are bursting with discussion and best practice advice.
Some companies will pay for continuing education, others will leave it up to you.
