Critical & Creative Thinking Resources: Self evaluation

Understanding, for better or worse, starts with entertaining the idea that something is true. The brain tries to make thinking easier by creating heuristics, but sometimes these are inaccurate. Therefore you must be vigilant in evaluating any assumption.

What are your thinking strengths and weaknesses?

Common Strengths:

  1. Analytical Thinking: Do you excel at breaking down complex problems, identifying patterns, and drawing logical conclusions? 
  2. Problem-Solving: Are you good at finding creative solutions to challenges and overcoming obstacles? 
  3. Critical Thinking: Do you evaluate information objectively, consider different perspectives, and form well-reasoned judgments? 
  4. Creativity and Innovation: Are you able to generate new ideas, think outside the box, and come up with unique solutions? 
  5. Adaptability: Can you adjust to new situations, learn quickly, and remain flexible in the face of change? 
  6. Decision-Making: Do you make sound judgments based on available information and consider potential consequences? 
  7. Open-Mindedness: Are you receptive to new ideas and willing to consider different viewpoints? 
  8. Curiosity: Do you have a strong desire to learn and explore new topics and subjects? 
  9. Detail-Orientedness: Are you meticulous and pay close attention to details, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness? 
  10. Emotional Intelligence: Do you understand and manage your own emotions, as well as those of others? 

Common Weaknesses:

  1. Procrastination: Do you find it difficult to start or complete tasks, often delaying them until the last minute? 
  2. Impatience: Are you easily frustrated and struggle to wait for results or follow processes? 
  3. Lack of Confidence: Do you doubt your abilities and hesitate to take risks or express your opinions? 
  4. Difficulty with Public Speaking: Do you find it challenging to present ideas or speak in front of others? 
  5. Overthinking: Do you analyze situations excessively and get bogged down in details, making it difficult to take action? 
  6. Difficulty with Delegation: Do you struggle to trust others and delegate tasks effectively? 
  7. Lack of Adaptability: Do you resist change and find it difficult to adjust to new situations or environments? 
  8. Poor Time Management: Do you struggle to organize your time effectively and meet deadlines? 
  9. Difficulty with Multitasking: Do you find it challenging to focus on multiple tasks simultaneously and maintain quality? 
  10. Lack of Self-Awareness: Do you struggle to recognize your strengths and weaknesses, and how they impact your actions and decisions? 
  11. Perfectionism: Do you set unrealistic standards for yourself and struggle to accept anything less than perfect?
