Overview of a search

• Search with most significant keywords OR jargon OR terms  EX (dog training)
• Limit to Scholarly (Peer Reviewed) Journals if appropriate.
• Limit your Publication Date range if appropriate.

THEN add more limits or filters as needed

• Create tag search by clicking on hyper-linked Subject Terms in Detailed Record.
• Filter by Subject  EX (pets)
• Filter by Format if appropriate EX (academic journals)
• Expand results by using OR between synonyms     EX (dog OR canine OR puppy)
• Narrow results by using AND between terms EX (dog AND training)
• Use NOT to exclude definition      EX (dog AND training NOT police)
