Spaced Learning Improves Memory Recall
Recall concept the next day, week, etc.
Example of spaced cramming over 3 days. (Note: It worked for me, but may not work for you.)
1) Review Notes, summarize, figure out you don't know or understand. Ignore stuff you already know.
2) Make Quiz Cards: Turn summaries and information you are struggling with into quiz cards, Answer on one side, question or term on the other side. Study quiz cards. Write it, read it, recite it. Pretend to teach it. What questions might a student have? How would you answer it?
3) Day before test, Review Quiz Cards everywhere you go, flip through cards. As soon as one set of question/ answer become easy to recall, set that card aside (but don't discard). When you get down to just the cards that are still not firm in your mind, you can create a small "cheat sheet"... and memorize it.
If you can get a good night sleep, do! If you are still in cram mode, try chunking: cram / nap / cram / nap 3hrs each. Eat protein before test to avoid hunger distraction.
Day of Test: Continue to study your "cheat sheet". As soon as you get your test paper, "brain dump" that memorized information onto the back of your test so you won't second guess yourself later when a question is intentionally tricky. Your "cheat sheet" is now on the back of the test.
Start the test.
