Initial FQAS Training Plan Information

To qualify to teach at FVTC, you need to complete FQAS (Faculty Quality Assurance System) training.  This training is mandated by the Wisconsin Technical College System.

Once you have completed the initial FQAS requirements, your status in the FQAS system changes to Ongoing.  In this stage, you are required to participate in three hours of annual professional development through FVTC in Instructional Excellence/student Success and the Organizational Focus of Assessment based on fiscal year - July 1st - June 30th. 

For this fiscal year, our Center for Instructional Excellence (CIE) has created some great options for you to meet the three-hour professional development requirements:

• Complete the 1-hour self-paced training course coming soon in Workday to meet the Organizational Focus - Accreditation requirement: 
  1. Navigating the College Accreditation Process: A Roadmap for College Staff - This module will provide a step-by-step guide to the Higher Learning Commission’s accreditation process, including key milestones, timelines, and requirements.  You will gain an understanding the important role you play in accreditation. (1 hour)
• Complete 2 hours of training from the following options:
  1. Self-paced Modules in Workday:
     • Kahoot EDU – Kahoot on Steroids
     • Learning Strategies that Transform Students to Learners by Dr. Bob Dubois*
     • Motivating Students to Learn by Dr. Saundra McGuire*
     • Leveraging Test Banks and Exam Wrappers for Student Success
     • Online Learning that Sticks:  Strategies to Shift to Student-Centered Learning
     • Using Humor and Levity to Enhance the Online Learning Environment
     • Wake Them Up!  Engaging Students in the 21^st Century Classroom
  2. Live, virtual evening sessions that are part of the Adjunct Certificate of Instructional Excellence.
  3. In-person or virtual training sessions provided for all faculty, including the Fox Faculty Fusion Day on November 7^th.  These are advertised via email on a regular basis. 

*If you participated in these modules last year, please chose alternatives.

Requirements are due June 30th.
