To search for a specific information need (Homework or personal need):
Use library databases to allow you to choose the type of information you want (Book, article, video? Trade or scholarly journal? Fact or Opinion?)


Searching for articles to practice environmental monitoring (staying current and competitive in your field):

  • Browse the table of contents or articles in trade or scientific journals to stay current.
  • Attend conferences for networking and learning what is new and upcoming.
  • Association newsletters, forums and listservs, as well as social media, are bursting with discussion and best practice advice.
  • Some companies will pay for continuing education, others will leave it up to you.
  • Use Public Library services & resources to stay current.
